The Time series, is a new set of bottlings from the well known TWE (The whisky Exchange) shop, which aims to catch different casks at different states in the maturation process. There are 4 of these, and the first of which is a 15 year old from an undisclosed ‘family owned’ speyside distillery. Not very hard to guess the distillery name, and I will leave it to you my smart blog readers 😉 All i can say is this distillery is well known for its sherry matured whisky. say no more LOL.
TWE ‘Time’ series take I : ‘Family owned distillery’ 15 yo, 51.3% abv ,£59.95
Nose: nice mix of orange marmalade, spice and baking spice. Nutty with some sour wine and balsamic , sweet syrup and ,leather.
Palate: sweeter with nice sherry , ripe oranges, licorice and sultanas, coffee and fruit leather , peppery and spicy too.
Finish: leather, sultana, prune and orange marmalade , nuts.
Summary : A nice sherry cask whisky at CS. not a sherry bomb, but it’s got a nice sherried sourish (and sweet) notes, alright. Nice price too for this sort of abv and age.
Score: 87/100
