The Whisky Exchange–Whisky Show Bottlings

TWE-WS_06_255x075-st

Living in Israel sucks big time when it comes to whisky events. I find myself wishing i lived nearer Europe so i could just hop on a train and be able to attend more whisky events. If you are not aware of it, then you should – The Whisky Exchange are organizing the whisky show this October (7th & 8th) at Vinopolis, and by the looks of it, this is going to be one amazing show. I’ve been invited, but sadly i can not be there (family,$$$ – the usual reasons), but I do recommend you take a look at the site and see what’s it all about. All I can say, if you have the time, and you can afford the trip. GO.

In the meantime TWE have published their special bottlings for this show. and some are very interesting.

Here’s a fast recap:

KH11

The first bottle which i personally am very happy to see (and also can afford) is the Elements of Islay Kh1.yes, you guessed right, this is the first IB of Kilchoman, the youngest of all Islay distilleries, which many of us like. In addition there will be other new Elements bottling : Bn1 , Lp3, Br2, and Pe5 (yes, Port Ellen!).

lochs1964

The 2nd bottle is a much older one : Lochside 1964 Single Blend. What makes it so unique is that it contains both malt and grain distilled at Lochside in 1964, which was then married into a cask and left to age until now.

In addition there will be a special peaty Bowmore 1993 , and a new Karuizawa 1981 bottled at full strength from a single sherry cask.

Speciality drinks will introduce a special release of Clynelish, Ardmore and Aberlour and Whisky Trail bottlings from Caol Ila and Macallan also scheduled for release at the event.

I do hope to get hold of some of the bottlings, even thought i will not be able to attend. I will be there in spirit Winking smile

  1. I love the Elements of Islay bottles, they remind me of the Chemistry lessons I had as a younger man. James pointed them out to me, but I will be looking into them more now that I’m heading over there.
