Littlemill 1989 – 22 Year Old by Single Malts of Scotland

Not a lot Littlemill bottles out there I am afraid, and every single one is something to cherish. The last one I had was another IB (Kintra) which was nice. This was was getting raving report from fellow bloggers, and seemed something worth a try. Luckily I was given a sample by my good whisk friend Billy (thank you!), while visiting London about 2 months ago.

Littlemill, 1989, 22 yo, 55.7%, cask 3120, 183 bottles, £99.95 (TWE)littlemill

Nose: Rich and sweet,With chocolate ,

Raisins , wood spices, rum soaked dried fruit , some wood resin, complemented by fruit cake and spicy wood and a touch of  vanilla custard.

Palate: Ginger candy, chocolate. Some kirsch , bits of exotic fruit , malty sweet with polished wood.  Solid stuff !

Finish: Long drying with chocolate and semi sweet Cherries with a hint of wood.

All in all an excellent bottling by SMOS, bringing back good memories of a distillery which is no longer in existence. Well done. A solid buy. highly recommended.

Score: 90/100

many thanks to Billy Abbot for this sample
