Two very different Indie Macallans (G&M and Blackadder)

Macallan. That Iconic distillery, which by now I suspect is more of a monetary instrument in the whisky investment portfolio than actually a drinking whisky for most… Or is it?
With the surging prices of OB Macallans (Have you seen the price of say a 18 year old sherry oak? a 30 year old Sherry Oak? if you can find any), …

Ruby, My Dear

Thelonious Monk, one of the greatest jazz artists to have lived (so I and many others think), wrote this lovely piece about his first love,Rubie Richardson, and first recorded it in 1947, one of jazz most well known pieces. When I first heard the Macallan are going to bottle an expression named “Ruby”, this was the first thing that popped …

This is the first Guest post from our friend Phil S. : Originally from London, Phil now lives in Israel with his family – when he doesn’t find himself on an aeroplane. Since sampling his first “proper” whisky at age 16 (it was a 12yo Strathisla), there was no turning back. Willing to try anything once, Phil is no snob …
