Tasting Six Isles Pomerol finish

It’s blend time again. This time a finished blends which i find very interesting. Originally Six Isles is a blended scotch from Ian McLeod distillers consisting of  whiskies from each of Scotland’s whisky producing islands of Islay, Jura, Skye, Mull, Orkney and Arran. This wee dram was further matured (finished) in Pomerol casks (from the Pomerol wine Appellation)

Tasting Nikka Yoichi – 10 year old Single Cask # 234426

The Yoichi distillery (余市)  is located at Japan’s northern island : Hokkaido. It was founded in 1934 by Japans’ father of whisky Masataka Taketsuru . Nikka started producing whisky  in 1936, releasing it’s first whisky in 1940. The Yoichi style differs from the Suntory style and is peatier, and more robust.

Quick End of week Dram : Talisker 57’ North

Today’s Malt comes from a distillery I like very much : Talisker. Talisker distillery is located on the isle of Skye which is the 2nd biggest island in the Scottish isles. The Isle of Skye is much bigger in population size (around 9000 inhabitants) ,and houses only one distillery only – Talisker.
