Nose: Intensely medicinal with quite a lot of bandages, some cough syrup as well as burnt wood smoke, burnt peat embers, , cumin and sweet wine on top of all that. there’s some sweet malt and burnt toast as well as ripe tangerine, with time I’m also getting some smoked kippers and smoky dried banana.

Palate: Big salty, sweet and peppery entry, with chilly, sweet sherry, and thick juicy dried fruit, as well as bacon marinated in sweet smoky syrup, lots of Smokey and ashy. Medicinal of course, with wet bandages and TCP.

Finish: Long long finish, burnt peat, sherry, chocolate, burnt sugar.

A most enjoyable Laphraoaig, the sherry really does integrate nicely and we get the entire medicinal , yet sweet combo. Well done.
