Braes of Glenlivet or better known as Braeval is the highest distillery in Scotland and we seldom get single casks bottled from there, which is a real reason to be merry. As I have tasted almost No Braevals , i was not sure what to expect, but this one turned out to be a lovely creamy and sweet dram, with a lot of exotic fruit going on. I am not sure if this is the distillery style, but either way I love this one.
Nose: Quite sweet fruit and exotic : Banana peal , kiwi , wood varnish, sweet malt, honey, and some wood spice.
Palate: Creamy mama! this is lovely , sweet and creamy. with quite a lot of fruit inside, wood, some nutmeg, vanilla, and butter. honey too. Banana cooked in coconut milk.
Finish : Ssweet juices, wood bark , fruit and honey.
Lovely stuff, very very sweet and fruit, great after meal treat.
In short : Go get one stat. the definitive desert dram. for a great price. a real no brainer. Currently the favourite from their new Single Casks releases.
