Quick Dram : Bladnoch Forum Inchgower 28 yo

A long due tasting note from an almost forgotten bottle share arranged by my good whisky friend from the NL, Sjoerd.  This Inchgower was distilled on the 20th June 1982 and aged for 28 years in hogshead number 6966 before bottling at cask strength on the 5th August 2010 for the Bladnoch forum. Total of 222 bottles.

I have not tasted many Inchgowers, so this one got me curious. Not a bad price for a 28 year old, at CS.

Inchgower 28 Year Old 1982 Cask 6966 (Bladnoch) , 50.70% ABV , £60inchgower-28-year-old-1982-cask-6966-bladnoch-whisky

Nose: Light,  malty, with some sweetness, nuts and wood polish.we discover more wood as we let it rest. So i recommend to use patience with this one…

Palate: Sweet stuff, with golden syrup, quite a bit of wood, but in a good way, a bit of smoked wood, and spice, nuts and dried coconut with a fruity character, dried apricot, and macadamia nuts with vanilla pods

Finish : nutty, coconut and vanilla.

the wood is quite dominant, but in a nice way. very enjoyable, with the nutty, and coconut.

Score: 86/100
