Blend your own whisky by Master Of Malt
A lot of whisky news going on, and two very interesting items I wanted to share with you, my loyal readers.
The first one is not completely new, and was launched at the end of 2011 : Master of malt the innovative whisky retailer is never idle, and they have launched a very cool “Blend your own whisky” initiative. How cool is that? All you have to do is drag widgets on the screen and tell MoM how much of eat ingredient you want: Single Grain, Malt base,Speyside Sherry , Highland malt, Islay malt, Old malt, etc. Very easy to handle, and in the end you have your very own 700 ml bottle of blended whisky. Cool.
Proof – A social tasting game for whisky connoisseurs
The second very cool web application for whisky geeks and lovers is called Proof. Basically it’s an a social ‘tasting game’ you can run on your Ipad (or PC), and it’s great for conducting blind tasting with friends. You start with choosing a few whiskies from a list to your tasting, then you hand the app to your tasting buddies where each with dragging the ‘Flavor Map’ assigns the whisky profile as he tastes it. you go on doing that for each whisky, and then the member can guess which whisky was which. Fun, and very convenient. A wonderful idea. You should try it!
