Whisky Round Table #16 – mothballed or demolished distilleries

Again, it’s time for this month’s whisky round table. This time a classic subject chosen by Ruben of WhiskyNotes.be (good choice Ruben). mothballed or demolished distilleries, always interesting, and always relevant.

A reminder as to who are the whisky knights:

Chris – Nonjatta
Keith – Whisky Emporium
Karen & Matt – Whisky For Everyone
Ruben – Whisky Notes
Mark – Glasgow’s Whisky (And Ale)
Neil & Joel – Caskstrength.net
Lucas & Chris – Edinburgh Whisky Blog
Jason – Guid Scotch Drink
Gal(me) – Whisky Israel
Mike – Whisky Party
Peter – The Casks
Joshua – The Jewish Single Malt Whisky Society

and the question:

If you could reopen a mothballed or demolished distillery, which one would it be and why?

I was sure most would choose the same distillery i had in mind- Port Ellen, but guess what. i was wrong. we all selected a different distillery, and that is very interesting.

The lovely discussion can be found here at Ruben’s Blog.

Now, dear readers, which distillery would you like to reopen?

If you could reopen a mothballed or demolished distillery, which one would it be and why?

Slainte!

Gal.
