Compass Box Twasting with the WhiskyWire

photoI love Twastings (twitter tastings, in case you do not know what it is), and I love Compass Box whiskies. Great Artisanal blended malts and whiskies. What can be better than a twitter tasting of Compass Box whiskies? well, nothing.

Tuesday, 22:00 Israeli time. Kids asleep, Wife asleep, it’s only me and my precious 3 samples of compass box. Now those tubes are sexy as hell, with the liquid gold inside. We set to meet, courtesy of the tasting organizer, Steve Rush of the Whisky Wire blog , and a lovely chap. There were quite a few of us (don’t want to forget names), but some really good buddies : @S_Rob The Chocolate and whisky man, @cowfish a.k.a Billy from TWE, Sam Simmons, better known as @dr_whisky, @oliverKlimek from Germany, and some new friends such as @jbforbes,@DrinkBritain,@whiskydrinkeruk and of course the one and only @compassbox Chris.

We were about to try the well known and great Spice tree (which in the past caused quite a stir in the whisky world, with CB’s usage of oak staves in the casks , which then were prohibited by the SWA), The new kid on the block (or on the blog) the blended Great King Street, Artist’s Blend, which is now appearing  all over, and last the lovely, gentle peat monster: a big favourite of many whisky drinkers.

The tasting was lots of fun, with great tasting notes from all those whisky lovers, and some very insightful information provided by @compassbox who took a very active role in the tasting.

Well organized, and sheer fun.

Thank you Steve & Compass box for having me. It was a ball.

Hop on to the WhiskyWire excellent site, for some of the tasting notes shared by us during the tasting.

G.
